Quick Facebook for Business Tip : Profile Image Sizing

I don’t have a strong background in graphic arts or design, but I do have a knack for managing social streams and coming up with unique ways to engage community. One struggle that I have had with facebook business pages, is getting the profile picture to look good in the thumbnail view. Until recently, I had to rescale the image over and over until I could come up with a useable pic. Thank goodness facebook was listening because now you can have your profile image auto fit the thumbnail view!

It is really simple to do, but I’ll walk you through it in 3 easy steps.

  1. Go to your facebook business page and hover your pointer over your profile pic. You will see a caption appear “Change Picture”…click it.
  2.

  3. Next you will see your profile image and a couple of options below it, click on “Edit Thumbnail”
  4.

  5. Traditionally, you only had the option to drag your pic around in the window, but now you can tick the box that says “Scale To Fit” and your image will automatically be rescaled to fit in the thumbnail view!
